I was in San Antonio this past week for work and stayed along San Antonio’s famous River Walk.
As I did my morning runs along the river, I was reminded of my good friend Yves and the great advice he gave me years earlier.
My largest client is in San Antonio and so I’ve now probably been there 50+ times.
I was there on a trip around five years ago, when my friend Yves happened to be there as well, for a conference.
Yves is one of those super successful, super humble guys who has given me much great advice over the years.
On that trip Yves and I found time to grab dinner on the River Walk. I don’t remember what we talked except never forget his great advice to me:
“Brad, run your own race.”
Then Yves repeated it, “Brad, run your own race.”
My First YouTube & Podcast Interview
A few weeks ago I was deeply honoured to be interviewed by my friend and mentor, Tom Karadza on The Your Life! Your Terms! show.
I was delighted when I saw that Tom named the YouTube interview - RUN YOUR OWN RACE. The YouTube link at the very top of this post.
Alternatively, you can listen to the Podcast linked below.
On the interview we discussed:
me becoming a writer,
my life as an entrepreneur for the past 15 years,
the ups and down of my real estate investing,
my Bitcoin journey that took me from 0% to 100% allocation over 3 months in late 2020 and included a family trip to El Salvador, and
the key principles that have guided my life.
My Most Important Message of the Interview
The overriding thing that I hope people get from the interview is the importance of running your own race.
Since that River Walk dinner with Yves, “running my own race” has stuck with me and I’ve tried to live by it since.
Call it what you want:
Running your own race,
Pursuing the Calling on Your Life,
Realizing Your Dharma,
Living out your Personal Legend, or
Pursuing Your Bigger Things.
I hope you are able to pursue that because…
the greatest adventure of our lives is pursuing our Calling, pursuing our Bigger Things.
Wild, wonderful, miraculous things start to happen when we pursue our Bigger Things.
If you are able to watch or listen to the interview, I hope you enjoy it!
To Your Great Adventure,
To Your Bigger Things,
Brad 💕👊
